I can't believe with all the attention to this protest that nobody seeded this.  McKibben gives a succinct 4.5 minute answer to the importance of stopping this oil company endeavor.

The Alberta Tar Sands -- the 2nd largest deposit of carbon on Earth, after the Saudi oil deposits. Now that we've released the Saudi carbon supply into the atmosphere, we want to now release this supply into the atmosphere via the after effects of human consumption.

NO! Where are those who are worried about the world we are leaving future generations? We can leave them all the money in the world, but it'll never be enough to turn back destruction to the environment. Pay attention, folks!
